Celebrating Ghanaian Independence with Sports and Community at Xcite Craigswood

On Saturday 8th March, Xcite Craigswood was alive with energy, joy, and vibrant cultural pride as it welcomed the Ghanaians of West Lothian for a special celebration sports day in honour of Ghana’s Independence Day. The event brought together families, friends, and fitness enthusiasts for a day packed with sports, games, and community spirit.

From friendly football matches to relay races, the atmosphere was filled with excitement as participants of all ages joined in the fun. The rhythmic beats of traditional Ghanaian music played in the background, adding to the festive mood, while children enjoyed interactive games and fitness challenges.

Pabby, the main organiser, expressed his vision for the event, saying, “We want to see more Ghanaian families across West Lothian getting involved in fun exercise and activities. It’s a great way to celebrate our heritage while promoting health and wellbeing in our community.”

The day was not just about sports—it was about bringing people together, fostering connections, and encouraging an active lifestyle. As the event wrapped up, many attendees shared their enthusiasm, already looking forward to next year’s celebration.

At Xcite Craigswood, we are proud to host events that celebrate diversity, inclusivity, and wellbeing. Whether through cultural sports days or regular fitness activities, we are committed to creating spaces where everyone can stay active, connect, and have fun.
