At Xcite we know the value of café culture – whether it’s grabbing a coffee on the go between appointments, fulfilling that need for a caffeine boost in your day, or meeting with friends and taking the time to sit, relax and catch up over a hot cup of coffee and maybe even a savoury or sweet treat.
However you like to enjoy your coffee, did you know that we launched a new coffee bar in Xcite Craigswood in September? We identified the need for a better way to use our foyer area – making it more of a comfortable, community space rather than just a place to grab a snack or drink from a vending machine and sit around waiting for classes to start or finish.
We created a new brand – Nourish – based on the idea that what we wanted to install was a communal space that was focused on community and bringing people to that space to spend time with others in comfortable surrounding with delicious, locally sourced refreshments to enjoy. Nourish is not just about food, it’s about nourishing the body, the mind and the soul. We have a gallery wall in the seating area which has framed artwork created by pupils at neighbouring Beattlie school and we guarantee you’ll be impressed by their designs.
With a menu consisting of a range of sandwiches, toastie, panninis and soup, to a great range of cakes and various coffees, cold drinks and even freshly made smoothies! There’s something for everyone and, yes, we have oat milk!
So whether it’s National Coffee Day or not, why not visit Nourish and see for yourself? You don’t need to be using the sports centre for any reason other than to visit Nourish, make it your new weekly coffee and catch up location or use it to have a blether with your fitness classmates or gym buddies before or after exercising! One of our customers Charlotte, who has been an Xcite member for over 20 years, told us that’s exactly what she’ll be doing going forward - “We often find ourselves sometimes standing after class chatting, sometimes outside in freezing cold. Just having a chat. Now if you want to have a chat after class or before class, it's an ideal situation - a comfortable space.”
